Anna is in for an upper GI and a cat scan of her abdomen. The nurses do a full vital check and explain the procedure to her. A bite block is placed in her mouth to keep it open for the scope and the gas begins to hiss through the hoses. The mask is placed over her nose and mouth and she is instructed to breathe in and out. The eyes begin to flutter as she relaxes and the nurse counts it down. The gas does its job and Anna if fully prepped and ready for transport to the GI lab.
